  1. Aciphylla (Apiaceae) is a genus of c. 27 species, found mainly in New Zealand but with two species in Australia. It was last revised completely by Oliver (1956). Oliver’s revision is inadequate. New work by David Genny at Landcare Research is working to revise the genus.
  2. The Hamilton Junior Naturalist Club (HJNC) or "Junats" for short began in 1962. For many it has played a crucial role in the initial education and encouragement of further studies into New Zealand Natural History. The club is holding a reunion later this year and is keen to make contact with past members.
  3. The Network's plant search engine has been changed so that it will now search the latin name AND synonym databases. This will make it easier to find species that have recently changed name.
