  1. Schefflera digitata

  2. I have purchased a house in Pauanui with two of these trees, close together. Unfortunately, on pruning lightly, found good sized worm holes through the branches. Is it possible to hard prune these trees at the end of winter, and somehow inject insecticide into remaining holes (likely success of this treatment?) or would it be better to get rid of both and start again?

  3. How big are the worm holes? Are they big enough to be puriri moth holes? Do the trees seem to be in distress from the burrowing insect? If not then you could probably just leave it be.

  4. Thank you. The holes are about 3mm in diameter and about 1 in the centre of each 40mm branch the local arborist recently pruned.
