  1. Long narrow leaved willow

    This willow is growing wild in the hills east of Taihape at about 700 masl in creek guts and roadsides. It has short whitish fluffy dome shaped catkins with bright yellow anthers and leaves are just developing.(October). Have attached photo of the narrow leaves that have a white underside.Photographed mid November.
