  1. Pennantia baylisiana

  2. Hi Joan Cooper here I have a Pennantia baylisiana in a pot. It was given to me by a friend who's son brought it from Oratia it is second generation no. 393.

I would say it was about 10 years old and has flowered and fruited several times. It is about 2 meters high and I want to take it out of the pot as I feel it needs to be potted on or planted out. Question, how big do they grow in cultivation?

  3. We have one growing at Percy Scenic Reserve in Lower Hutt,it has been there for many years and would be around 4 to 5m high with probably a similar size spread. So not a huge tree but careful placement would be needed.

  4. The wild plant is about 5m across the canopy, so that would be how large it can grow. How long it takes to get there is anyones guess
