  1. ID help please!

  2. Does anyone recognise this plant? Many thanks

  3. This is Tarweed a very prolific weed and not one that you want in your paddock. I was about to ask for info on it because my research shows that it is toxic to livestock if eaten over time. My horses will not eat it in the paddock, but the danger is that if baled in hay, they will. Farmlands has suggested Spraying with Pulsar which I am in the process of doing. I would love to hear other opinions on this. A few this year means you will be over taken next year is my experience.

  4. Hi Sam,
Try Parentucellia viscosa (http://www.nzpcn.org.nz/flora_details.aspx?ID=3279). Distinctive because the leaves are sticky, hence the common name tarweed.

  5. Hi Debbie and Jeremy, thank you very much for your replies. It is on a property that will have horses grazing next year and the owners are concerned about it. It is prolific throughout the pasture in all paddocks, a senior land management officer at the Regional Council has recommended using Tordon via gun and hose. Any thoughts on this?
