    Is this tree considered a noxious plant/weed or pest species in NZ currently please?

    The legal status of crack willow is "Unwanted organism". See http://www.biosecurity.govt.nz/pests/crack-willow. It is listed as a "community initiative pest pant" in the Auckland Regional Pest Management Strategy (http://www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/EN/environmentwaste/biosecurity/Pages/regionalpestmanagementstrategy.aspx). This means that provided certain conditions are met, Council may provide support to local control initiatives (http://www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/EN/environmentwaste/pestsdiseases/Documents/rpms20072012.pdf (13.5 Mb)).
