Hi does anybody recognize this tall grass. Grows in the terrestrial part of an estuarine system along the Kapiti Coast. It would occasionally get saline intrusion. Much of the rest of the area comprises sea rush, oioi, and saltmarsh ribbbonwood

Bolboschoenus fluviatilis is what this looks like to me,it does die down over winter.

Looks like a Bolboschoenus but you would need to check the seed head to get the species.

Yep, Bulboschoenus. Prob. B. fluviatilis given stature, but check using seed as Pat says
