We moved into our house 3 years ago and about August/September each year this strange plant shows it's head. I have not sent a photo as it is very hard to take one. The leaves are something like a Plantain lilly but the actual Flower ( a loose description). looks like a finger with a cream tip about 2 inches long. The base of which has what looks like webbing around it's base. The whole plant only grows to around 8 inches high. I am not sure wether to pull it out and discard it. Sorry to be so vague but it is hard almost impossible to take a photo. Some people say it could be some kind of lilly.
Hi Derek, even a bad photo would help as I'm struggling to think of what it could be
Just a guess, is it an Anthurium?
Sounds like it could be an Arum (like A. italicum) or a dwarf Zantedeschia. That said, it could be any one of a number of things, and like Mike says, is too difficult to give a decent guess without a photo.
Thank you. I have sent a photo.
Sorry Derek, but the photo isn't showing up. Can you repost using the browse link in the reply box?
