    Seed was roundish and flat with a winglike structure
    Found somewhere in NZ

    No idea - do you still have the seed, and if so can you load up a clear image of it?

    My guess is hollyhock - Alcea rosea - see attached image. Your seedlings look decidedly Malvaceous

    Thank you. The seeds looked decidedly like that. I will know where to plant them now.
