  1. Pimelea prostrata ?

  2. Hello. I've found this plant in February near the Tongariro. I think it's Pimelea prostrata. Is it right ? Thanks for your answer.

  3. Yes in the broad sense this is Pimelea prostrata - Colin Burrows segregated out a few subspecies (none of which I especially believe in) from that area - and from this image I can't say which one it might be.

  4. Thank you for your answer Peter.
I've seen there are many subspecies indeed. I don't master your flora enough, to express an opinion retaning to these subspecies.
In my country, we have the same problem about the genera Ophrys (Orchidaceae). According to the autors, there are up to 150 species in Europe...but genetically there are 9 species !
Sorr for my English it's not perfect.

  5. No problem, and no problem with your English either. Yes I remember well Ophrys - from my time in Sardegna - a taxonomic nightmare. Much harder to deal with than our Pimelea

  6. Yes, a real nightmare ! Thank you Peter. There are a lot of plants i didn't identify
