  1. Please Id the flower?

  2. It grows beside a neighbor's fence, with a very high inflorescence around 4 m.

  4. Its a Bromeloid of some kind (from South America) - I am not very good at these and the only person I knew who was died earlier this year (he was 90). Try Googling it - you may get answer, this is a reasonably common garden plants in some parts of New Zealand try "Puya" or "Dyckia" - and see where that gets you. Best I can do I am afraid.
