    have this plant growing in the garden. We never planted it. can someone please ID it for me. Is it poisonous?

    Tree Tobacco (Solanum mauritianum) - yes it's poisonous. Advise you remove it promptly before it sets fruit. Birds disperse it - and its now very common from the Waikato North. If you wish for advice on how to control it ask the Auckland Council for help.
