Has anyone had any success germinating and growing Gahnia species, specifically Gahnia lacera? Sawdust is suggested - any specific variety? Manuka/pine/etc. And does it help to soak/stratify seed? Thanks.
Untreated pine sawdust works very well. I am not sure why it works - the discovery was made by staff at Oratia Native Plant Nursery, Oratia, West Auckland - you could try asking them
