  2. Location: ridge crest planting Waiwhakareke Park, Hamilton. This exotic seedling which I assume must have some sort of fruit has turned up on mass, thanks to the starlings that roost in this area. cheers ian

  3. Hi Ian, did you find out what this is?
I have a suggestion, Tieghemopanax sambucifolius, don't bother looking on the NZPCN site there is no photo or description but try this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyscias_sambucifolia You'll have to decide which of the three varieties, and if you're happy take some sharp photos and send it to Jesse Bythell to at least get photos on the website.

  4. cheers Graeme, No I haven't had any takers on Id
Recently discovered this plant is also deciduous turning yellow, orange, red before falling. Wondering if some sort of sumac? Toxicodendron vernix?

  5. Well you may be right, in case you are be careful around it. All I can suggest is that you take sharp photos of both the top and bottoms of leaves, the apical bud, where leaves attach to the stem and a close up of the young stem, and renew your query with the name that you think fits. That should get more input. If that still doesn't get an answer put good photos on NatureWatch.
