    I am wanting to plant on the edge of the Waikato river which floods occasionally and is sandy soil. Which Carex is the best to use.

    Carex dissita or C. ochrosaccus - C. dipsacea is not very common in the Waikato Basin - you do see but not very often. Carex dissita and C. ochrosaccus are very common along the Waikato River Banks

    Carex ochrosaccus is a great species that could be planted a lot more in appropriate areas. We have had good success with it in a variety of settings.
