  2. We have four Puriri approx 10 mt apart and approx 10 years old. One suffers dieback every year around the same time, then recovers. Any ideas as to what might be the cause or what to look for?

  3. If it is a similar date each year it is likely to be an environmental factor. Drought comes to mind. I've noticed that puriri with shaded root plates do much better than those in full sun. Mulching may help. Puriri do very well with their toes in effluent ponds - I observed growth rings of about 1cm as opposed to the usual 1mm.
