  1. Pseudopanax ferox

  2. I have several ferox in my garden. Planted 6 years ago. One is starting to yellow along the leaves. So too are some flaxes on the property. Is this a mineral deficiency in the soil ?

  3. Hi Kim - interesting question. For the P. ferox, are the yellow leaves just up the stem? If the ones on top are still dark green then it might be that the stem leaves are senescing naturally. I've seen stem leaves turn yellow and gradually fall off over several years. Both species grow naturally in low fertility soils so they should be well fed in a garden setting. If you're keen, you could experiment by adding fertiliser to half the plants of each species. Thanks, S
