Can anyone identity this plant?
Was this wild? Its in the Myrtaceae -a species of Homoranthus but I cannot say which one from this image. If its wild it would be useful to get a herbarium specimen sent to the Auckland Museum. You could do that by passing a specimen to the Department of Conservation, Whangarei - ask for Andrew Townsend - and he can sent it on.
Try Homoranthus flavescens
I agree Peter, a Homoranthus. I've seen just one in the wild, and that was in wallum vegetation on the Gold Coast - well worth visiting Pine Ridge Reserve (and nearby Coombabah) if you want to escape the theme parks and Surfers' madness.
I have seen it wild once at Royal National Park south of Sydney in Mallee Scrub
