    Hello. I have an idea to encourage Southland dairy farmers to plant native trees as shelter belts and I was hoping for some advice on some quick growing trees that are farm friendly. It would be great if we could grow them easily from seed or cuttings. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Megan,
    You have almost described exactly one of the motivations for why Arne Cleland from Pukerau has grown many native trees and shrubs over the years. He and Jenny are selling at the moment, but will be within the business for a while. It is a good idea to call them (check their website for numbers).

    I heartily agree with with Philip. Arne and Jenny have been advising landowners about planting on farms in Southland for over 30 years. They have lots of good advice and a helpful website http://www.pukeraunursery.co.nz
