    I took a couple of cuttings from a plant and immediately wrapped the stems on wet cloth and planted them in a container with potting mix when I got home. I have kept the mix moist but the cuttings are wilting. What should I do, or what have I done wrong

    Sounds like you used soft wood cuttings - try semi-hardwood they work better.
